    EDUCATION

Mougins School is unique on the Côte d’Azur, offering the British curriculum, adapted to an international community. Students acquire advanced international qualifications which permit them to go on to higher education in prestigious universities worldwide or direct entry into employment.

Subjects available include: English, French, Spanish, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Business Studies, Computing, Physical Education and Music.

The Foundation Stage (3 – 4 year olds): children in the first year (Early Years Class) attend School for mornings only. In the second year (Reception Class) children attend all day.

Forms 1 to 9 (5 to 13 year olds): the programme is divided into Key Stages and students follow the UK National Curriculum.

Forms 10 to 11 (l4 to 16 year olds): students having followed a two-year course take International General Certificates in Education (IGCSE’s) designed for the international market and administered by Examination Boards in the United Kingdom.

Advanced International Programme (17 to 18 year olds): after their IGSCE examinations, students who have gained at least 5 A – C grades may enter the Advanced International Programme.

NUMBER OF PUPILS & SIZE OF CLASSES

In 2013 the School will have a capacity of over 500 students (present enrolment is at 450 students), of more than thirty-five nationalities.

Class sizes are limited, bearing in mind that numbers can be increased in Forms 10 to 13 where students are split according to subject choice.

    RESULTS

In 2011 89.5% of students achieved at least five IGCSEs with A* to C. The pass rate for AS Levels was 92.5% and the pass rate for A-Levels was, once again, 100%, all well above the national average which is an excellent result, particularly bearing in mind that the majority of the students will not be studying in their mother tongue.
